OEM Equipment Supply
With aging reactors it is increasingly difficult to obtain parts or replacements for original nuclear components. The original equipment manufacturer,
may have gone out of business
may no longer be ASME certified
might not have an acceptable QA Program, or
might not be able to analyze for new conditions
Numet is an ASME certified facility with 30 years of experience in the design of nuclear pressure vessels and components.
We use our expertise and experience to find the best way to solve these procurement challenges. Where possible we work with the original supplier and we provide only those services required that the original equipment manufacturer will not, or cannot, provide, to complete the supply process.
Numet’s involvement may include,
re-registration under Numet’s name,
reverse engineering for new design requirements,
nuclear material supply,
fabrication / assembly support,
NDE and testing, or
quality assurance and auditing.
Where the original equipment cannot be provided, equivalent components can be designed and supplied.
Some typical examples of such equipment supplied by Numet are shown in the illustrations below. Numet can however provide, or support the procurement of, any nuclear or pressure boundary component to a client’s specific requirements.
